Dublin in profit: Irish pubs are charming customers from Birmingham to Beijing
Article Abstract:
The Guinness Irish Pub Concept (GIPC) has opened 1,250 Irish pubs throughout the world, in the five years since its launch. UK leisure operators have created successful brands, such as O'Neill's from Bass Taverns and Scruffy Murphy's from Allied Domecq. Irish pubs abounded overseas even before Guinness's involvement, with several Irish ex-patriots opening pubs in Germany. Guinness has invested more than 10 million pounds sterling on developing the concept.
