Magical mystery tours
Article Abstract:
Virtual reality provides benefits to scholarship and at the Virtual Heritage 96 conference work is in progress to allow the VR user to explore places and artefacts that were once out of reach. VR can recreate environments and in the future there will be a need to achieve academic consensus on the realism and accuracy of a certain virtual heritage recreation. The best virtual heritage recreations are created on software configured to benefit from the processing power of Silicon Graphic's machines, but they can also be created on Apple Macintosh and Pentium machines.
