Maverick Central is sticking to Thailand
Article Abstract:
Thai hotel chain Central Group of Hotels does not see overseas expansion as one of its priorities. It is focusing on strengthening its presence within Thailand and neighbouring countries, especially Myanmar and Vietnam. It believes that there will be good opportunities from the tourist industry in Myanmar, and plans to open its Central Floating Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar, in May 1995.

Room glut is good news for agents and clients
Article Abstract:
Bangkok, Thailand, had 44,000 hotel rooms at the beginning of 1995, and this is set to rise by 10,000 by the end of the year. The over-supply is bringing benefits for business travellers and for travel agents, who can negotiate for rooms at the highest quality hotels at attractive rates. New hotels include the Pan Pacific Hotel Bangkok, which has 235 rooms.
