Northern Ireland
Article Abstract:
The tourist industry in Northern Ireland has been almost defunct for 30 years since the outbreak of terrorism and the Troubles. However, the current paramilitary ceasefires hold a strong hope of permanent peace and the tourism market is reawakening. The number of visitors is beginning to increase, with most visitors to the province coming from elswhere in the U.K. or the Republic of Ireland. Northern Ireland's tourist industry has several problems to solve if it is to attract more tourists. These include lack of good accommodation and lack of investment in tourism attractions.

Cambodia
Article Abstract:
The development of Cambodia's tourism industry was checked in 1997 when unrest and violence stopped economic recovery. International arrivals dropped during the year and there has been little revival since. It is expected that continuing political and economic uncertainty will further damage the industry's prospects in the short-term, although Cambodia may have a brighter long-term future.
