Price decides if Florida finds favour in Germany
Article Abstract:
Growth in Florida's German tourist market is heavily dependent on price. A buoyant US economy has allowed Florida prices to rise, so German tourist numbers look set to remain static at around 500,000 in 1998. Operators believe that price rises will not deter the more affluent Germans, but efforts to maintain the market include niche product planning. Niche products during 1999 are likely to include ecotourism. German tourists often spend three to four weeks in Florida and commonly opt for fly-drive holidays or an organized tour.
