Historic Royal Palaces Chief Executive David Beeton is very aware of the need to incorporate technology into his organisation. He has been instrumental in making the organisation self supporting. It had previously received 12 million pounds annually from the UK government. Beeton has been keen to raise overall standards of customer service within the palaces. Income has been increased to 55 million pounds sterling per year from 13 million pounds sterling. Historic Royal Palaces is an independent charitable trust.

Article Abstract:
The Earth Centre in Doncaster, England, will open in three phases. The first will have four major indoor exhibitions, along with 26 acres of gardens, adventure trails and play areas. The Planet Earth Experience, the main exhibition area, is made from local magnesium limestone and includes the Planet Earth Galleries. The second and third phases will include a 1,000 sq mt solar canopy supplying around one third of the Earth Centre's energy needs and a New Millennium Cities exhibition.
