Tom Pendry
Article Abstract:
Tom Pendry is UK Labour Party Shadow Minister for Sport. His responsibilities include media representation of tourism and leisure development. He considers the media neglect the political aspects of sport, for example, the impact of legislation on sporting venues. He considers the Department of National Heritage understaffed and suggests possible organisational changes under a future Labour Government. He emphasises a natural connection between sport and tourism. He considers both parties have disregarded the economic importance of tourism. However, the Labour Party is committed to its future development.
