Article Abstract:
The 12th World Waterpark Association Convention, Sep 29, 1992 to Oct 4,has indicated optimism for the future despite a poor 1992 season. Bad weather and recession resulted in lower attendances and consumer spending. World Water Park Association President Ned Stancliffe emphasised the importance of innovative practice. However, the industry is expanding in Brazil and South Africa. New hotel developments include water attractions. Other parks are extending their market by adding alternative land-based attractions to lessen weather dependency.
