The Coney Island Polar Bears are swimmers who brave the icy waters was founded by McFadden as he believed that the cold water increases one's virility, stamina and immunity are now joined by groups from Vancouver to Moscow. The experience of Brett Martin when he joined the Polar Bears Club to jump the icy waters of New York along with twenty other people is described.
