For better or worse: good deals - with pitfalls
Article Abstract:
Travelers can look forward to car rental companies improving their airport facilities. The international airports in San Francsico, Dallas and Minneapolis are building complexes that will combine operations so that it is easier for passengers to pick up and return cars. Consolidated bus services will reduce the number of vans that are needed to shuttle passengers to their flights. Travelers still need to use caution when booking companion flights. Some of the restrictions on buying two tickets for the price of one may limit the travel savings that seem appealing but are achieved by making airline reservations in a different way. Some of the better deals for 1999 are outlined.

Going the extra mile
Article Abstract:
It is often difficult to use frequent flyer mileage to obtain free tickets because of the limitations placed by airlines on their usage. However, likely due to pending legislation and increased seat availability, airlines awarded more free seats in 1998. Information compiled gives consumers better information about seat availability.
