Tourists can take boat excursions and thread more than 300 miles of navigable canals in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which is dubbed as the "Venice of America". A sense of the good life is evoked, with postcard-perfect beaches, unique shopping districts and trendy restaurants all over the port city. The different tourist sites and activities of Fort Lauderdale, which is an ideal starting or docking point for cruisers, are discussed.
