Budget motels in France are very sparse, especially when compared with rooms of similar price available in the US. The French motels are small, all do not have private bathrooms, and their accommodations do not offer many comforts. Hotel rates and accommodations are described.

Article Abstract:
The increased use of budget hotels and motels makes such bargains more difficult to find. The majority of such accommodations are clean, convenient and cost less than $50 per night outside major cities, and offer some conveniences. Room service is not usually provided.

Hotels and motels that offer rooms for $50 or less per night are plentiful in the US. The majority of rooms are clean and offer such services as cable television, free local calls and continental breakfasts. Room service is not usually found at budget hotels.
