Pilots asleep in the air - officially?

Federal officials may legalize naps for pilots working 16 hour shifts. Research done by NASA shows that short naps by one pilot at a time could improve performance and prevent accidental dozing at dangerous moments.

An electronic system to avoid airplane collisions will be required in almost 4,300 US airliners by Dec 1993. The device picks up signals from other planes and gives instructions to avoid possible collisions.
