Pike dreams
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the growth of the pike population of Alaska are discussed. The effect on stocks of rainbow trout and salmon and the efforts being made by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to limit the pike numbers are examined.

The predatory behavior and physiology of Alaska's salmon shark are discussed. The salmon shark is at risk from overfishing and restrictions were imposed on sport and commercial fishing of the shark in 1998.
