Chefs in the Washington DC area are becoming younger compared to their European counterparts. Chef-entrepeneurs' numbers are increasing and the Washington DC area is proving to be a wonderful nurturing ground. Several chefs already run some of the most prominent kitchens in the area.

One of Sydney's chef, Tetsuya Wakuda, is renowned for his original and distinctive recipes. He is able to integrate Japanese, Chinese and French influences in his cooking while using Australian ingredients. His recipes include poached breast of quail.
