The Safety Board believes airline attendants need more training in how to cope in a airplane disaster. The Federal Aviation Administration has not enforced existing safety regulations, and refutes the Safety Boards claims. Several airline attendants recount their experiences during air crashes.

Foreign airlines: is anybody watching?

A congressional inquiry has found that many foreign airlines that fly into the US lack adequate safety inspections. The Federal Aviation Administration evaluates the safety standards of foreign airlines wanting to begin service to the US, but not of those already flying into US airports.

Should U.S airlines carry life rafts on board?
Article Abstract:
The FAA and the airlines industry claim that replacing life rafts with jackets or seat cushions that float in the water does not compromise safety. However, critics contend that these substitutes do not offer as much protection against hypothermia, drowning and shark attack.
