Article Abstract:
Recent and impending changes in China's Special Economic Zones (SEZ) focus on freeing enterprises from excessive regulation and moderating the growth of the government sector, leading eventually to zones even more attractive to investors. The country is also moving toward equal national treatment for all provinces, though inland officials want the SEZs moved to them so they can catch up with the coastal areas. China is raising some taxes on foreign inveostrs, but will soon grant them free entry to the domestic market.
