A cancer therapy resistant to resistance
Article Abstract:
The discovery that anti-tumour drug Endostatin inhibits angiogenesis, thus avoiding acquired drug resistance, is a significant development in cancer research. Further research will determine its suitability in the treatment of human beings. However, the drug is a protein and will be expensive to administer. It may have long-term side effects and would have to be administered intraperitoneally or subcutaneously.

Angiogenesis as a therapeutic target
Article Abstract:
The recent progress and the issues that need to be resolved before the field of angiogenic therapy make significant advances is summarized. The results showed that antiangiogenic approach when combined with chemotherapy results in increased survival of patients with advanced malingnacies.

Bv8 regulates myeloid-cell-dependent tumour angiogenesis
Article Abstract:
The upregulation of Bv8 proteins in CD11[b.sup.+][Gr.sup.+] myeloid cells is caused due to the implantation of tumour cells in mice. Bv8 regulates mobilization of the myeloid cells from the bone marrow during tumour growth and locally promotes angiogenesis.
