Article Abstract:
Neuroscientists are keen to know where more clearly defined cognitive activities take place in the brain, as they no longer believe that concepts like genius can be pinned down to precise brain locations. Zilles, who is head of the Institute of Medicine at Julich Research Centre, one of Germany's national laboratories has developed a painstaking method for precision mapping the cellullar architecture of the human cortex.

Working out the bugs
Article Abstract:
Roland Strauss at the University of Wurzburg, Germany designed a robot like machine, Tarry II to understand how behavior-involving movement is controlled in insects. He aims to tease apart the complex of brain circuits that coordinates such movements and hopes to identify broad principles about how the brain directs these behaviors, which might also apply to other animals including humans.
