A water-vapour giga-maser in the active galaxy TXFS2226-184
Article Abstract:
The presence of a water maser in the galaxy TXFS2226-184 paves the way for determining the distances to galaxies outside the usual distance ladder based on the Hubble constant. Water masers, which exist only in regions with a lot of molecular gas, are a good means to detect active galactic nuclei that are powered by gas falling into a massive black hole. The strength of the emission from the water giga-maser in TXFS2226-184 supports a theory of maser pumping that permits the detection of masers from larger distances.

Infall of gas as the formation mechanism of stars up to 20 times more massive than the sun
Article Abstract:
Observations of an ammonia line towards a high-mass star forming region located at a distance of G24.78).08 is reported. It is concluded that the gas is falling inwards towards a very young star in line with theoretical predictions of non-spherical accretion.

A resolved outflow of matter from a brown dwarf
Article Abstract:
Spectro-astrometric data that spatially resolve an outflow from a brown dwarf is reported. The result suggests that the outflow mechanism is universal and relevant to the formation of planets.
