Abundance and projected control of invasive house crows in Singapore
Article Abstract:
A density-dependent, discrete-time model of Singapore's Indian house crow population demonstrates that 41,000 crows will have to be culled during the initial year of a control program to meet the population density target of less than 10 birds per sq km, from the current 190 birds per sq km. Fewer birds will require culling if other measures such as nest destruction and resource limitation are also used.

A multiscaled model of southwestern willow flycatcher breeding habitat
Article Abstract:
A geographic information system (GIS) survey was used to create a multiscaled model of breeding habitat for the southwestern willow flycatcher. The model incorporates site vegetation density, neighborhood vegetation density and variability, and neighborhood flat terrain or floodplain. Implications for flycatcher conservation and habitat protection are discussed.

Metapopulation dynamics of the California least tern
Article Abstract:
Research is presented on the effects of predation reduction on the California least tern, using varying probability of reproductive success. Findings show the importance of location and number of populations selected for conservation to the success of conservation strategies.
