Anthropogenic disturbance and patch dynamics in circumpolar arctic ecosystems
Article Abstract:
Interaction among different natural and contemporary anthropogenic regimes has a significant effect on local and regional vegetation patterns and plant migration. Anthropogenic patch dynamics seems to be a force to be reckoned with when plans are made for highly circumscribed and ostensibly mitigative land use in the more productive landscapes of the increasing accessible Arctic.

Effects of tour boats on the behavior of bottlenose dolphins: using Markov chains to model anthropogenic impacts
Article Abstract:
Research on the bottlenosed dolphin population in Doubtful Sound, New Zealand, indicates that disturbances by tour boats reduce times for resting and socializing behaviors, but overall behavior budget totals for the population were not significantly impacted. More research is needed to measure behavior effects if the intensity of tour boat disturbance is changed.

Species Imperilment and Spatial Patterns of Development in the United States
Article Abstract:
Findings show that rising human activity levels, rather than spatial distribution, is the most significant anthropogenic factor driving the loss of biodiversity in the United States. Levels are measured by characteristics such as intensity of light at nighttime, number of households and people, and incidence of roads.
