Avian nest box selection and nest success in burned and unburned southwestern Riparian forest
Article Abstract:
Effect of spring and summer wildfires on breeding bird habitat's quality was studied in Middle Rip Grande valley by measuring avian nest use, nest success and vegetation structure in burned and unburned riparian forest plots. The analysis has shown that the recovery of dense vegetation is crucial in maintaining populations of Bewick's wrens, whereas ash-throated flycatchers are less sensitive to vegetative structure and composition of postfire succession.

Constructed wetland habitat for American avocet and black-necked stilt foraging and nesting
Article Abstract:
Foraging and nesting habitat of American avocets (Recurvirostra americana) and black-necked stilts (Himantopus mexicanus) are examined. The studies have confirmed the validity of management recommendations for American avocets and black-necked stilts and have indicated that agricultural drainage can be managed for providing highly productive managed wetlands.

Determinants of wood thrush nest success: A multi-scale, model selection approach
Article Abstract:
Data from year1998 to year 2000 on wood thrush nests in central New York was collected to determine the factors responsible for nest success. Information-theoretic approach was used to assess and rank 9 models that examined the relationship between nest success and habitat conditions at different spatial scales.
