Studies were carried out on disgraced researchers, a series of high-profile misconducting cases to find out psychological factors behind scientific misconduct and cheating. Sociologists believe that results might help in a better understanding of those who betray science and of the climate in which they do so to provide tentative guidelines to limit such problems.

Iraqi killings prompt calls for US to evacuate weapons scientists

The assassination of many of the formal weapons scientists in the Iraq has hit US plans to employ them to rebuild the war-torn country. Non-proliferation experts have started to call for the researchers to be evacuated from the country due to their killings and the deterioration of the security condition in Iraq.
