Superconductivity on the border of itinerant-electron ferromagnetism in UGe2
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the observation of superconductivity in a pure system, UGe2, which is on the border of ferromagnetism. The similarity with a classic d-electron ferromagnet is discussed.

Magnetically mediated superconductivity in heavy fermion compounds
Article Abstract:
The binding of electrons into paired states in a conventional superconductor is mediated by phonons. It is argued that in heavy fermion superconductors CePd(sub2)Si(sub2) and Celn(sub3) charge carriers are bound in pairs by magnetic spin-spin interactions. This magnetically mediated superconductivity could help in the debate over whether magnetic interactions are relevant to describe superconducting and normal-state properties of other electron systems.
