A guide to scientific products
Article Abstract:
Several scientific instruments are evaluated. These include laboratory equipment, such as Cyberlab's new C-200 sample preparation workstation, Hewlett-Packard's HP 3D capillary electrophoresis system and Medical Systems' Micro-Incubator. Products for culture and incubation are also described, including Heraeus' new B15 incubator, Queue System's CO2 incubators and B Braun Biotech's Biostat A laboratory fermenter modules. Tools for transfection, molecular studies and cell biology research are likewise evaluated.

The structure of consciousness
Article Abstract:
A systems-level approach is required, which explores how local computation is related to global patterns of neural activity, for understanding the structure-function relationships that govern brain operations. The local-global wiring of the cerebral cortex and the perpetual, self-organized complex dynamics are required for subjective experiences.
