Cosmology gets real
Article Abstract:
Cosmology experts have determined the age and make-up of the Universe, and are now turning their attention to the problems of dark matter and dark energy. Theories developed in recent decades might now be tested with new instruments, as researchers attempt to harmonize the theories of quantum mechanics and general relativity. Evidence that the Universe is expanding at an accelerating rate has been substantiated by a correlation with the amount of matter still missing from inventories of the Universe's mass.
