Article Abstract:
Marine animals glide on through water levels dangerous to people without even elevating their heart rates. The physiological adaptations that enable deep-diving animals like elephant seal, emperor penguin and many others to accomplish their diving feats are discussed.

Big bucks for big horns
Article Abstract:
An annual auction held in Reno, Nevada raises thousands of dollars for the protection of desert bighorn sheep by selling hunting paraphernalia and hard to get hunting licenses. Funds go to protect the bighorn's natural habitat and fight disease spread by cattle.
