Nautilus Minerals, Vancouver, Canada, and Neptune Minerals, London, are planning to make profits by mining massive deposits of copper, zinc, gold and silver on the seabed. Environmentalists are worried about the impact of deep-sea mining on the endemic or rare organisms.

Pirates attack US research ship off Somalia
Article Abstract:
The US oceanography research ship Maurice Ewing was chased by assailants in a small boat for 20 minutes in waters 30 km off the coast of Somalia. The ship will now remain at least 80 km off the coast.
