Animal rights activists are prone to stress because the very nature of their mission forces them to witness suffering that they normally would not like to see. To preserve their mental health, these activists must learn to seek support, practice mental distancing and find time to engage in relaxing activities. Likewise, going to a professional counselor should help.

People can support the fight for animal rights by eschewing products made using animal testing. Thus, they should limit their diet to vegetables, buy non-animal derived clothing and use cosmetics, cleaning products and medicines not made from animals.
