Effect of Expert Opinion on the Predictive Ability of Environmental Models of Bird Distribution
Article Abstract:
A comparison between predictive models of species distribution is presented, demonstrating that unsupervised fitting procedures are both a cost-effective and adequate method for generating potential distribution maps of a given species within a regional context. This method is illustrated using 10 bird species in Andalusia, Spain.

A Spatially Explicit Decision Support Model for Restoration of Forest Bird Habitat
Article Abstract:
The model is applied to regions of forest fragmentation in the Mississippi Alluvial Valley to determine spatial targets necessary for successful forest bird conservation. Data are presented in ha, and are compared with conservation targets arrived at by other models.

Applying the Declining Population Paradigm: Diagnosing Causes of Poor Reproduction in the Marbled Murrelet
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that nest predation and limited food availability, rather than lack of nesting sites, account for Marbled murrelet population declines in central California.
