Effects of joint space use and group membership on contact rates among white-tailed deer
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to quantify direct and indirect contract rates among white-tailed deer and to compare them with simpler measures of joint space use. Direct contact rates were found to increase with increasing volume of intersection (VI) and were higher in autumn-spring than in summer, while indirect contract rates also found to increase with VI were affected lesser by both season and pair-type.

Associating seasonal range characteristics with survival of female white-tailed deer
Article Abstract:
A study was undertaken to ascertain how female white-tailed deer in the central Black Hills, South Dakota and Wyoming areas survived during the summer and winter months following changes in availability of vegetation relevant to migration. Results revealed that migration of deer differed and that they did not return to the same areas every year.
