Elasticity analysis for conservation decision-making: Reply to Ehrlen et al.
Article Abstract:
An analysis of Elasticity for conservation decision making is studied in reply to Ehrlen et al and it is shown that realistic variability in mean vital rates can cause dramatic shifts not only in elasticity rankings and values of elasticities but also in quantitative predictions of changes in actual population growth. It is understood that elasticity values can also give misleading results if interrupted without a clear understanding of their assumptions and limitations.

Experimental evidence for beneficial fitness effects of gene flow in recently isolated populations
Article Abstract:
The effects of inbreeding and gene flow in small experimental population of the mustard Brassica campestris is studied .The results suggest that a small amount of gene flow among inbred, small populations increases the fitness of these populations and that the higher rates of gene flow may increase fitness but will also decrease phenotypic divergence among populations.

Edge Effects and Isolation: Red-Backed Voles Revisited
Article Abstract:
California red-backed vole populations were studied in southwestern Oregon to assess demographic responses to forest fragmentation. Findings show that edge effect appraisal may be difficult for some species in small fragments, as the needed data for population estimator application requires significant effort.
