Ethiopian plan for Lucy tour splits museums
Article Abstract:
The agreement signed by the Ethiopian government and Houston Museum of Natural Science have signed an agreement to display Lucy, the famed 3.2m year old Ethiopian hominid skeleton has caused concern among paleontologists who feel that the transport of the fossil would damage it. The president of the Houston museum has however claimed that his museum has the expertise to handle such delicate specimens, and views the exhibit as an opportunity to raise the profile of Ethiopia that is home to the cradle of mankind.

Feel it in your bones
Article Abstract:
The new Au. anamensis fossils were at the Ethiopian National Museum in Addis Adaba, where the researchers will augment the Middle Awash hominid collection, which spans nearly 6 million years. The researchers claim that fossils from the Afar region shows that early hominids were not a diverse group of coexisting species and the team suggests three species evolved as a single lineage between at least 4.4 million years ago.
