Extremes in the Indian Ocean
Article Abstract:
It has been possible to obtain evidence of some extensive interactions between the ocean and atmosphere in the Indian Ocean region. This research has also identified possible climatic consequences of these interactions. It highlights unusual events in the tropical Indian Ocean in the period 1998 to 1998 which clearly indicate the existence of a substantial 'mode' of interaction between the ocean and atmosphere over a period of many months. It was possible to construct a composite picture of the dipole mode showing its spatial structure at different phases.

A precision measurement of the mass of the top quark:
Article Abstract:
The mass of the top quark, reflect some of the most crucial aspects of standard model (SM). A technique that extracts more information from each top quark event and yields a greatly improved precision when compared to previous measurements is described. As a result, the most likely Higgs mass increases from the experimentally excluded value of 96 to 117 GeV/C(super 2), which is beyond current experimental sensitivity.
