Factors influencing perceptions of conflict and tolerance toward cheetahs on Namibian farmlands
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that the introduction of educational materials has helped alleviate the perception of cheetahs as pests by Namibian farmers, resulting in a significant drop in cheetah killings between 1991 and 1999. Economic incentives and management strategies are key to farmer participation in cheetah conservation.

Political Incentives for Biodiversity Conservation
Article Abstract:
Effective nature conservation is reliant on the creation of strong ties between conservationists and local communities, particularly if conservation is threatened by large projects such as electric power generation. Policies and practices in India's Great Himalayan National Park are used as an illustration.
