Association of Cdk-activating kinase subunits with transcription factor TFIIH
Article Abstract:
Analysis of purified mammalian transcription factor TFIIH confirms its association with the MO15/Cdk7 kinase and cyclin H subunits of the cdk-activating kinase Cak. Both TFIIH and Cak can phosphorylate recombinant carboxy-terminal domain and recombinant Cdk2 proteins. Cak could be involved in transcriptional regulation and cell-cycle control, as suggested by its presence in TFIIH.

Evolution of alternative transcriptional circuits with identical logic
Article Abstract:
The evolution of a combinatorial transcriptional circuit composed of sequence-specific DNA-binding proteins that are conserved among all eukaryotes is analyzed. It is observed that despite the change in regulatory mechanism, the logical output of overall circuit remains the same.
