Foxp3 occupancy and regulation of key target genes during T-cell stimulation
Article Abstract:
DNA sequences occupied by the transcription factor are identified in a replicate set of experiments by using chromatin-immunoprecipitation (ChIP) combined with DNA microarrays in order to identify direct targets of Foxp3. Transcription factor Foxp3 suppression of its targets are important for the normal function of regulatory T ([T.sub.reg]) cells, as the overactive variants of some target genes are found to be associated with autoimmune disease.

Polycomb complexes repress developmental regulators in murine embryonic stem cells
Article Abstract:
Study is conducted to show that Polycomb group (PcG) proteins directly repress a large cohort of developmental regulators in murine embryonic stems (ES) cells, the expression of which would otherwise promote differentiation. The results indicate that dynamic repression of developmental pathways by polycomb complexes may be required for maintaining ES cell pluripotency and plasticity during embryonic development.

Mesenchymal stem cell cells within tumour stroma promote breast cancer metastasis
Article Abstract:
The bone-marrow-derived human mesenchymal stem cells with weak metastatic human breast carcinoma cells increased the metastatic potency of cancer cells when the mixture is introduced into a subcutaneous site and is allowed to form a tumor xenograft. Analysis shows that tumor microenvironment has facilitated metastatic spread by eliciting reversible changes in the phenotype of cancer cells.
