GRIP: a synaptic PDZ domain-containing protein that interacts with AMPA receptors
Article Abstract:
A synaptic PDZ domain-containing protein called glutamate receptor interacting protein (GRIP) is identified. GRIP, which has seven PDZ domains but no catalytic domain, interacts with the C termini of AMPA receptors. This action suggests that GRIP may be an adapter protein that links AMPA receptors to other proteins, making them critical for the clustering of AMPA receptors at excitatory synapses in the brain.

Activation of the TRPC1 cation channel by metabotropic glutamate receptor mGluR1
Article Abstract:
The TRPC1 cation channel's activation by metabotropic glutamate receptor mGluR1 is discussed. Group1 metabotropic glutamate receptors are G-protein-coupled neurotransmitter receptors which are found in the perisynaptic region of the post-synaptic membrane.

SOL-1 is a CUB-domain protein required for GLR-1 glutamate receptor function in C. elegans
Article Abstract:
The accessory protein SOL-1 is required for glutamate-gated currents and participates in the gating of non-NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) iGluRs. This results in a new mechanism, which regulates the important class of neurotransmitter receptor.
