Habitat use by forest bats in South Carolina in relation to local, stand, and landscape characteristics
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine the significant local, stand, and landscape factors that affect the bat habitat use in northwestern South Carolina, USA. It was observed that the early successional habitats, small openings and gap in the forest stands are favorable for commuting and foraging bat habitat in northwestern South Carolina.

Pond-breeding amphibian species richness and habitat selection in a beaver-modified landscape
Article Abstract:
Various models describing local, pond conditions and wetland characteristics are developed to predict sites with high amphibian species richness. It is concluded that the mosaic of active and abandoned beaver wetlands both supports rich amphibian assemblages and provides suitable habitat for different species.
