Heartbeat synchronized with ventilation
Article Abstract:
Cardiorespiratory synchronization studies have established that most individuals exhibit synchronization without respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA). Synchronization does not occur in individuals which exhibit high RSA amplitudes. The cardiorespiratory cycles of teenagers aged between 14 and 17 years of age were analysed and assessed using cardiorespiratory and autocorrelation techniques.

The inconstancy of the human heart
Article Abstract:
HERG is a cardiac ion channel which protects the heart against improper rhythmicity. HERG is functionally inverted when compared to other voltage-gated potassium (VGK) channels and was only recently found to be the proponent in a genetically determined cardia arrhythmia. HERG is theorized to be mechanistically a normal VGK channel but with reversed rates of activation and inactivation.

Homodimeric architecture of a CIC-type chloride ion channel
Article Abstract:
Scientific understanding of the molecular architecture of CIC-type chloride ion channels is limited. An analysis of CIC-0, however, reveals that it is a homo-oligomer of a polypeptide of Mr approximately 90,000, with no subunits. Meanwhile, hybrid CIC-0 channels can be classified as homodimers containing two chloride conduction pores.
