Hepatitis C and liver transplantation
Article Abstract:
A study shows that for individuals with Hepatitis C, the only option other than antiviral drugs is liver transplant. A severe shortage of organs prevails and despite the use of grafts, the demand would outweigh the supply, rapid progression of the disease can lead to graft loss and a need for retransplantation.

Challenges and successes in developing new therapies for Hepatitis C
Article Abstract:
The chronic nature of the Hepatitis C infection along with its high prevalence and significant death rate continues to be a serious threat to global health for many years to come. A series of multiple drug combinations would be needed to treat this disease.
