Hotspots of insect diversity in boreal forests
Article Abstract:
Research reveals that the fungal fruiting bodies, a microhabitats of wood-decaying macrofungi, facilitate biodiversity maintenance in boreal forests as evidenced by the high number of rare insect populations. Data indicate that these fruiting bodies contain insect communities rich in species, many of which exhibiting specific host preference.

Impacts of Alternative Timber Harvest Practices on Leaf-Chewing Herbivores of Oak
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that herbivore insect species richness is altered at landscape level after low-level harvests of black oak and white oak. Community structure and density of insects were not significantly altered.
