Hybridization between wolves and dogs
Article Abstract:
Wildlife conservationists are concerned that European gray wolves are becoming hybridized with domestic dogs. A 1997 study showed that although dog-wolf hybrids have been observed in the wild, it is not a common occurrence. Hybridization may not be an important conservation concern, since behavioral and physical differences between dogs and wolves are sufficient to prevent mating. Hybrid offspring are unlikely to survive in the wild.

Outplanting and differential source population success in Lupinus guadalupensis
Article Abstract:
Seeds of Lupinus guadalupensis are better for outplanting if they come from larger populations. In addition, sites that are least likely to become desiccated are better suited for outplanting. A study of adaptation patterns of L. guadalupensis on San Clemente Island, CA, also found that these plants are most vulnerable at the young rosette stage. Evidence of local adaptation was not found.
