Immunological function of a defined T-cell population tolerized to low-affinity self antigens
Article Abstract:
Experimental studies on the tolerance of T cells reveal the ability of these lymphocytes to tolerate self antigens such as Mls-1 without losing their response to other antigens and to induce in vivo memory and immunopathological functions. The T cells with low affinities cause unresponsiveness, which specifies their 'resting threshold.' In vivo elimination of natural pathogens is performed by these self-tolerant T cells.

More mutations in males
Article Abstract:
Genetic research using genes on sex chromosomes shows that more genetic mutations occur in males than in females. Evidence suggests that point mutations are caused by cell division rather than via other processes including methylation. More mutations occur with advancing age. Females may choose young mates to breed with, thus minimizing the risk of bearing mutant offspring.
