In search of perennial solutions
Article Abstract:
Crop researchers hope to develop perennial grasses that are ecologically economical in comparison to those used in modern farming. The Land Institute of Salina, Kansas, has funded agricultural research to establish a mixed-species system to work alongside conventional monocultures. The project will cost 130 million US dollars until the year 2022.
