Vaccination success and body condition in the European wild rabbit: Applications for conservation strategies
Article Abstract:
Two diseases, myxomatosis and rabbit hemorrlagic disease have led to a decline in population of European wild rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) in Iberian Peninsula. A study is conducted to estimate which factors related to body condition were associated with successful immunization by vaccination. It is believed that success rates in mass vaccination programs carried out in free-living populations may be increased if the body condition of individuals is evaluated before vaccination campaigns are carried out.

Bait station for detection and control of alien rats in Galapagos
Article Abstract:
The ability of vertical bait stations to exclude native in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador is tested as managers lack techniques to efficiently monitor for rodent invasions. Results showed that differences in climbing technique solved the problem of alien rodent over endemic species and the technique discussed provided means for early detection and control of alien rats.
