Neuroscientists see red over Dalai Lama
Article Abstract:
Several neuroscientists are calling for the cancellation of a special lecture on the study of empathy and compassion and how meditation affects brain activity to be given by the Dalai Lama in November 2005 at the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) in Washington DC. Some of the critics believe that the Dalai Lama's lecture should be ruled out as of his status as a political and religious figure.

The mad cow disease or bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), is caused by prions which are deviant forms of protein called PrP. This disease has been spotted in the cloned cattle of Korea, whose experts believe that these cows will be useful as bioreactors to produce drugs for human use.
