Low-light-adapted Prochlorococcus species possess specific antennae for each photosystem
Article Abstract:
Prochlorococcus have a large depth distribution in the occurrence of distinct genotypes adapted to either low or high-light-niches. The moderate low-light-adapted strain Prochlorococcus is described to have one iron-stress-induced gene encoding an antenna protein serving photosystem.

The genome of a motile marine synechococcus
Article Abstract:
The megabase genome of synechococcus strain WH8102 is described to be influenced by horizontal gene transfer. WH8102 have adopted strategies for conserving limited iron sores by using nickel and cobalt in some enzymes.
