MPs back increase to fund hadron collider
Article Abstract:
A parliamentary committee report backs British particle physicists' call for increasing the science budget to help fund the Large Hadron Collider at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics in Geneva. A 25% hike in the cost of the subscription is compounded by the government's decision to freeze the science budget at current levels. However, some MPs view the demand for extra funds as unrealistic and advance an alternative strategy which seeks a global dialogue on the issue.
